So, here you are, searching for things to do during lockdown due to the COVID-19 fiasco that has devastated everyone worldwide. I know you have seen several articles that discusses a lot of things that you can do to beat boredom. Well in this article, it will be direct to the point and a lot fewer than others have suggested.

1. FOCUS ON YOUR PROFESSION OR LEARN SOMETHING NEW

Whatever career you may have, there will always be something new to learn. Hence, focus on that. For instance, if you are a corporate trainer, you can look for new activities or new methods to make your sessions more fun, interactive, and effective. On the other hand, you can totally try to acquire knowledge on something new, like graphic design, or improving your public speaking skills.

How about studying topics you are less knowledgeable of? You can simply watch documentary films about stocks, globalization, or politics on YouTube or any online resources you have. You will never know that these learnings may be of big help in the future. I came across a Tedx Talk on YouTube by Zain Asher, who is a news anchor at CNN International and she discussed how she randomly studied finance or anything about business because she trusted that she will be given an opportunity to be a business reporter. Thus, for many years, she dedicated to going to a certain library where she can study the essential topics that were related to business news. Hence, when she was scheduled for a screen test and financial news test, she was more than prepared even if she was only given two weeks to prepare.

If you want a boost of motivation, you can watch her Tedx Talk here, I promise, it is a MUST WATCH:

2. BOND AND RECONNECT

When we were all busy with our daily lives as we mainly focused on our jobs or business transactions, we thought of our families and dreamed to have more time with them. Now, is the time to exactly do that!

So, what are you doing staying inside your room and watching three movies in a row? I am not saying you are not allowed to do that, but your parents are in the kitchen deciding what to cook for lunch, and your siblings are in the living room, maybe you can find some time to reconnect or start a conversation. After all, you have long dreamed for "family time" right? But there you are saying, "it's kind of awkward to just talk to them when we are not that kind of family". Well, you know, whatever kind of family you have, you are lucky to have one. Tomorrow is not promised and today is short, so, bond with them whenever you can. But please, do not forget to observe social distancing. Ayt!?

3. EXERCISE

That was pretty short when the first two were a bit lengthy. Because it is that simple. Stop complaining that you are gaining weight when you are not really doing something about it. Do you still remember yourself saying, "I do not have the time to exercise because I sleep late and I wake up early and I just feel too exhausted with my job blah blah blah."

Well now, you finally have the time honey. I may be being harsh here, but it is just the reality and because I said that excuse too. It is really a matter of determination and discipline. The former is having the desire to achieve your goal of being fit and healthy while the latter is badly needed because if you do not have it, determination alone would not be enough. Imagine wanting to lose weight, like really really really wanting it, but you just want it and you end up procrastinating all the time.

"Okay, you have made your point, so, how do I start exercising when it is really tiring", you see, you need to find what motivates you. In my case, I tend to move more when I do dance exercises or Zumba. If I force myself with all the strength training stuff that could make me faint any freaking time, it still would not work for me. There are a lot of exercise clips on YouTube and exercise pins on Pinterest, all you need to do is research.

For starters, here is one of the exercise routines I follow on YouTube:

4. PRAY

I will make this short and simple. PRAY and REFLECT.

Do not waste the time that you have now, or even after this lockdown. We are all definitely affected by this pandemic which at times, scares us and makes us think of all the possible worst-case scenarios. Again, tomorrow is not promised and today is short, hence make the most of your time, ALL THE TIME.
