Sam got up from her bed. She looked at her phone --- half-past six in the morning, no messages.

It was a gloomy day. "Ah, what a great day!", she exclaimed. Dark skies always sparked her soul. It always made her feel safe. The thought of heavy rainfall comforted her in a way that nobody could ever fathom. She went out of her cozy room to the kitchen. Another day of mind-boggling choices between toasted bread with scrambled eggs or a healthy bowl of oatmeal and apple smoothie.

Toasted bread with scrambled eggs. "Why do I even bother thinking?", she whispered. "Good morning Sam, my love, have you eaten already? I'm on my way to work now." she suddenly thought of Robb, he should be sending him a text right now even though she never replies.

"Rob plus B!", "Stop calling me that Sam, by the way, are you free Friday night? There's this new coffee shop.", "Sure, Shelley canceled on me, so, I guess I have no choice buuu---", "Well, if being your last option gives me the chance to have a date with you, then---", "A date???". Sam smiled as she recalled how Robb started courting her.

"OH MY GOD! Good Lord, I can't eat these!". Burnt toast never tasted good. "Oh well, fewer calories for me this morning!". "Nooo you should not be drinking iced coffee in the morning Sam, here, I got you this". Sam was surprised to see Robb holding a cup of brewed coffee and a brown bag of some sort. "Rob plus B! WHAT ARE THESE???", "Breakfast is served my lovely Sam!". Sam was always excited to go to work because of Robb and his endless surprises. They were officemates and although he was assigned to a different department, he always made a way to see her. Love knows no excuses. But that changed as their relationship went through time.

"Change is constant". Sam read the framed caption near the sink as she was washing the dishes. "Why did I ever put that there?", and she remembered, Robb randomly gave it to her. He used to plan their dates all the time. He used to call him every now and then. He used to give her flowers, not just on Valentine's day. He used to find a way to squeeze in "Sam time" in his hectic schedule. He used to be Sam's perfect guy. But then again, the term "perfect" was always impossible.

Robb. The guy who swept her off her feet and stabbed her heart a thousand times as well. How ironic it could be? That only one person can make you so happy and that same person could also destroy you in an instant. "I'm sorry, I did not know this would happen, I did not---", "Of course you are aware of what you are doing, you are not a kid anymore Robb!! Don't tell me you and Shelly went on a date behind my back and you are both unaware that what you are both doing is wrong and that I could get HURT!!??"

Sam wiped the dishes dry and she went back to her bed. That corner of her bed next to the window was her refuge. She always sat there and thought if she should forgive Robb. He has been making up for that mistake for more than two months now, but she never talked to him ever since. Her phone beeped. "Good morning my love, I'm sorry I just woke up. Did you have breakfast already? Let me guess, toasted bread and scrambled eggs?".

Toasted bread with scrambled eggs. Toasted bread with scrambled eggs. Robb. It was always Robb. "Ah, why do I even bother thinking?".

With a tearful smile, Sam grabbed her phone. "Hey, Rob plus B, does burnt toast sound good to you?"
